i AM A LPN WOUND NURSE FOR THE LAST 4 YEARS AND FINIALLY I AM GOING TO DO THE CERTIFICATION, BUT I AM UNDECIDED ON WHICH LOCATION AND OR COMPANY TO GO WITH. ANY SUGGESTIONS? ALSO HOW MANY LPN WOUND NURSES OUT HERE?

I am also an LPN wound nurse, but I was under the impression that we could not be certified. I am a member of the WOCN society, but not considered a WOCN certified nurse.

LPNs can become "Wound Certified". Probably the most prestigious and well known of programs for accomplishing this is through National Alliance of Wound Care. Passing this program makes you WCC (Wound Care Certified). You can find out all you need by going to: www.nawccb.org

Good Luck!

LPNs can become wound certified and there are many of them out there, including myself. Probably, the most prestigious program for doing this is through the National Alliance of Wound Care. Completing their program makes you "WCC" (Wound Care Certified) and this is placed behind your initials. Make sure you note all the requirements that you will have to complete to keep your certification as well. You can find out all the info you need by going to: www.nawccb.org

wow...thanks! This wasn't even my post, and I'm thrilled!

I was trained by an RN who retired a few years ago, and I just took her word for it that I couldn't be certified. I suppose that's my own fault for not looking into it on my own, but now that I know, I can't wait to get started!

:yeah:
