When I was applying to nursing school I worked as a patient observer at a large city hospital. I basically sat there and monitored patients who were on suicide watch, had eating disorders (to make sure they ate their food), or who were 1:1 for some other reason. I wasn't really allowed to actually DO anything but it was an entry-level position and allowed me to talk to nurses and CNA's.
Maybe something in the office. Rush and many other hospitals have clerical & administrative jobs open.

I want to get my foot in the door, and I know it wil look better on my application. I am looking at definitely volunteering a little after I give birth, but I would also like to have a part time job next year involving some of the things I will be doing as a nursing student. Any suggestions?
