  1. Thanks everyone! This site really has helped me feel better and more confident. Now I know I have resources everywhere to help me accomplish this and that there is so many people doing the same thing :) Thanks again for your comments :)
  2. Thanks for the great tips :) My boyfriend is really struggling to keep us afloat right now and I just hope I can do this for us so bad :)
  3. I know, I feel so excited that I'm looking online at everything nursing I can :) Thanks for your input! Good luck in those classes!
  4. This is coming from a very jealous girlfriend myself.... The only way you will truly get her trust that you will not hurt her like that is to make sure you watch what you say to her about your fellow students. I am not saying to lie to her or keep anything from her, but you do not need to go into detail about specific people in your program/ classes because it will only raise suspicions for her. I sometimes let my brain wander and get the best of me, but as long as my boyfriend doesn't play into that and add to my scenarios and crazy ideas i've come up with they all seem to fade away. Girls have a lot of competition now and perfect girls are everywhere you look, so just keep in mind that she needs to feel like she is your main focus.:redlight: I can not stress enough....do not ever tell her that there are pretty girls in your class...even if there are, just make sure you do not feed into that if she asks, tell her you don't notice things like that anymore because you are commited to her. Hope this helped. :)
  5. I want to get my foot in the door, and I know it wil look better on my application. I am looking at definitely volunteering a little after I give birth, but I would also like to have a part time job next year involving some of the things I will be doing as a nursing student. Any suggestions?
  6. Good luck to you :) I will also have a full year of pre reqs, and I am really hoping that I get accepted into the program for next year. I also need to do all the little things to get extra points towards acceptance, like attending nursing orientation, and speaking with a health science advisor. Also CPR class. I'm ready to do this to the max :) Never been an "A" student, but i'm sure going to try :)
  7. Is a&p hard so far? I'm not worried about comm, but I am taking these first classes online. My A&p Will be in fall
  8. That's what I keep hoping. That exposure will help me a lot. What about other things in nursing? Like wounds, surgeries, chest tubes etc? Did you ever have a fear of those things? And if so was it easy to get over those fears? Thanks for your feedback :)
  9. thanks a lot. I'm hoping with my determination and how bad I want to be a nurse I will get past my fear of failure. I have not been to school since I was 15 , I am now 26. My boyfriend is working non stop so that I can be a full time student, so I hope I can do everything for our future that I want to. Thanks for the words of encouragement. Good luck to you :)
  10. I am afraid of needles myself, that is if I am the one getting the IV/shot. I'm hoping that I will not be scared around all the things that nursing will bring. I know needles are the least worst thing, that's just the thing that gets to me. Anyone else a little squeamish? or know anyone that has got over these feelings before?
  11. I start my classes may 14th at Brevard community college. I am taking the first 3 classes online. One is a math prep class because I scored low on my placement test. Then I am also take psychology and communication 1. I'm a little scared after watching so many videos on nursing school that I need to get straight A's to get in to the program. I will try my best but I havent been to school in so long. Is anyone else just starting the process like me?
  12. I am also pregnant and due in august. I am still doing my prerequisites so i'm not sure about the immunizations. Good luck to you though. Glad to see someone else is expecting :)
