Hello Massachusetts nurses,
I just graduated from a school in boston with my BSN last week and i am on an F1 visa. I have an OPT to work for one year. However, i am supposed to find an employer or a hospital who is willing to file for my green card so i can work and continue to live in boston. I have asked around and called several recruiters but most of them refer me to the nursing homes. I was wondering if any of you knew anyone that was doing it in the hospitals around boston. You can PM me if you want your information confidential. Thank you all.

Hospitals in Boston have their choice of grads. There is not a nursing shortage in Boston hospitals for entry level nurses. I would try New Hampshire, CT., and more rural areas at non-teaching hospitals if you really want a hospital job. It's a lot of work for them. If you really want to stay in Mass., in Boston, I would do as the recruiters suggests.

Agree with above.
There are American new grads in Boston unable to find jobs. At least one of my regular assignments cancelled all traveler contracts other than the International longtermers.
There have also been well-publicized pay increases in some facilities.
As such, they are not going to take the time, work and risk to petition.

Thank you all for your advice as i really appreciate your input. I have found a recruiter willing to petition for me.
I am happy for you I hope that it works out and well.
