books a million has great resources for nurses. It would not hurt to become familiar with medical abbreviations, basic terminology, how to give a shift report and how to write a care plan. Our first semester they expected us to know it immediately. do the best you can and Don't panic:specs:
i don't know the differences in the lpn program and bsn but when i first started my bsn classes my intructors told us to get Successful Problem-Solving & Test-Taking for Beginning Nursing Students..it comes with a CD ROM and introduces you to the style of questions that will be asked on nursing tests as well as helpful tips for taking nursing tests. A lot of the questions are "what would you do FIRST..everything EXCEPT"..etc.) so a lot of nursing exams don't want you to spit back knowledge but want you to know the material and how to apply it in a real life scenario. This book helped me a lot. You also might want to get a drug calculations book to get a head start on long division and conversions as well as a care plan book and NCLEX-RN..Saunder's Comprehensive NCLEX-RN (it's blue) is AWESOME! good luck to you :)
