Any grad school scholarships?

As men only represent ~5% of the nursing demographics, are there places that offer scholarships for us? I've been looking at attending grad school for my MSN nurse educator degree, then eventually move on to receive my PhD and teach at a university. I feel that part of addressing the nursing shortage is to get more men in the profession... and more male professors to help advise potential students. Any ideas?

Hmmmm..... In my hunt for scholarships there were few to begin with, and I never found one specifically aimed at men. I did find a lot of scholarships on Fastweb. However that site is used by A LOT of students, and that probably somehow decreases your chances of getting one. I did find a few specific to Women's and Children's health-related Masters. I'm sure there are a few education-related ones, especially since a lot of places are recognizing the need for future nursing educators... Best of luck!

I applaud you....keep looking. In fact, I received my MSN 10 years ago via a county scholarship. They are out there....but you just gotta keep your ears open and continue knocking on the doors. I plan to approach my PhD in a similar manner in the future. My belief: a college degree should never cost an arm or a leg...the money is out there...either in scholarship or in tuition reinbursement. Yes....college IS affordable when you look at it in this way.

MSEd=Master of Science in Education (yet it is in Counseling, out of the dept of Education).

The opportunities are out there.
