Hello all! I'm just finishing up my pre-reqs to start the nursing program next fall. I've always been intrigued by the nursing field, yet I have absolutely no experience or knowledge about it at all. I have a degree in Human Resources/Management and I hate it! It's not what I want to do, so I decided that I'm going to do it ... I'm going to be a nurse! :-)
Since I do not know much about the medical field, do you guys have any suggestions on any good books that could give me some sort of an idea of what I'm getting into?

Try Echo Heron's books. She is a nurse who has written several books about her hospital nursing experiences.

Here are a few books that I've bought and read and I loved them! If you haven't read them yet, you might like them. You can buy them at Barnes and Nobles bookstore: Mosby's Tour Guide to Nursing School: A Student's Road Survival Kit by Melodie Chenevert, How to Survive and Maybe Even Love Nursing School by Kelli S. Dunham, and Your First Year as a Nurse: Making the Transition from Total Novice to Successful Professional by Donna Cardillo R.N.
They aren't books that are really clinical or in depth as far as nursing curriculum, but they are good for students.
My favorite was Mosby's Tour Guide. Just make sure you get the most recent edition. :)
