I'm making a bold move. I'm leaving a job as a restaurant manager making $49k. I work about 55-70 hours a week between 5am-1am.
I was offered a Patient Care Assistant (kids ward) at a local hospital. At $13/hr it is not $49k. What I lose in salary I make up in versatility. I will be losing about $450 monthly in net pay. Well, working 3 nights a week 7p-7a I could do Ãœber again. I made about $150/day on that.
Yes I can do my nursing school stuff in the daytime too. It's really hard to finally and permanently leave the foodservice industry. After 22 years I walk away. I look forward to more face time with my twin boys.
I couldn't do any of this if not for my wife. Her and her $55k job. I'm just jittery about how this 40 year old man is gonna pull this off.

Only 40 years old. Get into a skilled trade in Texas.
Plumber shortage in Texas you can start as a helper making $15 per hour no experience, After couple years you can get a licenses you should be making around $60 to $80K
Good luck in your adventures.......
Pinay, the point is to survive until I finish nursing school. I've been a union electrician. Just not what I wanted.

Being a tech will help a lot when you're in nursing school/graduating. The experience is great, there's some things I've done or seen as a tech that I have never seen in my clinicals. You're just going to be busy lol and stressed as far as school. It's a lot of work. But you can do it!! :)
