Any EC/ISU students grads in VT or NH?

Hello everyone. I'm an LPN in VT, hoping to get my RN through a distance program. VT's BON does not recognize EC, and was unclear about ISU. I live close to NH, so would consider getting licensed and work in NH. I can't get clear on NH's acceptance of these programs, it says "pending" on the thread about ISU states.

So essentially I would love to hear from others in New England who are going through or have graduated from these programs, Mass, Maine, NH, NY or VT? I would hate to get licensed and work elsewhere only to find that I'm going to have to struggle to get reciprocity in VT (though it sounds like I would just need to have a certain amount of hours worked out of state).

Any advice or responses are appreciated!

I work in NH and was initially licensed there after graduating from EC. I live in VT right on the boarder so its nto a big deal living in VT and working in NH. There was no problems getting licensed in NH and they are actually very quick. Once you have a graduation date and are approved from EC to graduate you can sit for your boards in NH if you have a letter from the dean. I didnt know about this and waited. VT will accept EC grads after like 400 hours or something. I figured it out and it is about 3 months working full time as an RN. Not sure about Mass and Maine accepting EC...never wanted to live there. Hope this helps.

Thanks, BigKenny.

I live close to the border too, so I wouldn't be too concerned about working in NH. From what I see on the VT BON website, a waiver can be obtained from working 480 hours in direct patient care. I was wondering if anyone ever had trouble with that. But that's great to hear that NH is supportive of EC. How long ago did you get licensed? I think VT used to accept EC, but changed it's position about a year ago.
