Hello. I am curious about the role of RN case manager at a community clinic. I have 13 years acute care experience, and currently do telephone triage. I do like telephone triage, but also wonder if case management might be a better fit for me. How big would a caseload be in such a clinic case manager position? What are the stress levels like? I find all nursing jobs have stress, but am curious if this role is more stress/less stress than acute care. I tend to be very detail oriented, patient, etc, so thought it might be good match for me. However, not sure if this role is very stressful with overtime and meeting metrics requirements. What are the pros and cons of such a role? Any suggestions for a nurse considering this field? Thanks for any insight you may have.
