Any Canadian BSN students on here?

Hello from Canada!

I'm an older student (41) just finishing up my first year of the BSN program - I'm actually doing my first clinical this month. Most of my classmates are young enough to be my children, but they are a good group.

After having been out of school for over 20 years, this was a huge change for me, but I feel lucky and blessed to have this opportunity. The only thing I really struggled with this year was A&P as I had to re-learn everything. I have to give credit to YouTube, what a life saver!

I raised 3 children while working meaningless, usually crappy jobs my whole life. Now they are grown and moved out, I finally had the opportunity to move to a city and go back to school.

Good luck with your studies everyone. Work hard. The world needs us :)

Hello, I was looking through VIU nursing posts and came across your account. I just wanted to ask- typically how old are students in the nursing program at VIU? I’m just curious if most kids are straight out of high school.
