Any ADN programs that have no prereqs?

I have not heard of any ADN programs w/the pre-reqs built in (although that would be nice!) There are too many pre-reqs. It took me 1 year for the pre-reqs and then 2 years for the ADN program. Why do you think it will take 5 years? I know some people did the pre-reqs in 2 years. At my ADN program, we are able to take SOME pre-reqs during the program (although they do not recommend it) but it honestly was not a big burden. I have taken extra classes every semester of the nursing program and I have not been too stressed out. We were able to take the minimum requirements (english, math, micro, anatomy) before the program began, and take some other requirements during the program (psych, sociology, physiology).

Have you heard of any ADN programs that have the pre reqs built into the program?The way its going,It will take me 5 years for a 2 year degree.I know a lot of people are dealing with this in Cali.Is there anywhere in Northern Cali?
I know most the programs out here are based on a lottery system.Any suggestions would be great.

i live in the bay area and ALL of the colleges here have many prerequisites, altogether it will also take me 5 years for a 2 year degree. i am probably going to go straight for my bachelors because it will take the same amount of time. also cal state, and university nursing programs are not as impacted as the community college ones.

I live in the Central Valley of Cali and so far it has taken me 1 yr (5 semesters, summer through following fall) to complete all prereqs. Thats with working and having a family. I have looked into many of the bay area schools and the prereqs are pretty much the same. It shouldn't take 5 yrs unless you are only planning on doing 1 class at a time. The thing with Universities is that they usually only accept applications once a year and the enrollment is usually only about 40 students. The Junior Colleges and Community colleges are impacted because everyone knows they accept more students (like 60-80 twice a yr). They have a better chance of getting in there. But of course you have to be the one to decide whats best for you. GoodLuck

i know what you mean about 5 years to get the 2 year degree. i started taking my pre-reqs at SRJC. it became clear very quickly that i would not be able to get into classes i needed. i met people in the summer biology class that had taken some classes 3-4 times...at least they started them. there was a strategy to sign up for several classes and drop the ones you are not doing well in. and they didn't lose any priority status. i heard rumors the school was going to do some additional filtering of students who were doing this, like they lose their priority for that class registration on their third try.

i ended up checking out other schools further north, mendo and college of the redwoods. there is less problems getting classes at these schools. mendo is just developing its ADN, but CoR is well established in eureka.

keep in mind that pre-reqs are pretty much the same, but not exactly...you may have a suprise in store for you if you don't stay in contact with any school you want to take the ADN at.
