If I'm not too late...
I'm assuming that by situational questions you mean "Pt. X says or does blah blah blah. How should you respond?"
My experience with the NCLEX has taught me that you have to choose the least invasive, least restraining, most 'patient safety' oriented answer. To me, psych patients are the most difficult to respond to, because (you know, and I know)in real life, their response to any intervention is highy unpredictable. But for testing purposes, they seem to be treated the same as any other patient. I may get called to the carpet for saying so, but I don't think all our patients are the same, and I try to approach each one according to what he needs.

It is probably too late to assist you with situational questions at this point.
But I simply wanted to drop in and introduce myself. I'm a LVN psych nurse during the week at a small psychiatric hospital, and I do weekend double shifts at a nursing home on Saturday and Sunday. Psych nursing is fun, but you need to be firm and 'nutty' in order to survive as a nurse on a psych unit.
