I think this video may hit home for many Indian people. I remember once for myself that I was personally written up at work for giving a fellow Indian, a patient, a sage smudge stick at discharge as a form of goodbye with my continued best wishes in his health. The next day, I was pulled aside by my nurse manager and was instructed to sign a paper, like the above video, to not do this again...I chose not to...I was suspended for 3 days. It was viewed as a boundary violation. It was nothing more than two men of similar culture expressing goodbye...a form of cultural handshake.

Assimilation, even forced, continues to be the expected way of life in many areas.
