I'm doing my careplan now and I'm unsure about this....
Do hypomagnesemia and hypokalemia necessarily cause a decrease in Hemoglobin levels? My book says some vitamin or mineral deficiencies cause decreased levels....but that's not much help. I know one reason my patient had decreased levels is because of renal disease but I want to make sure I cover all the bases.
If anyone knows please let me know!
Same question regarding Hct.

no, not that i can remember learning. folate deficiency and iron deficiency can cause anemia, but i can't think of how mag or k deficiency could.
