Another question about Watts

Danigrrl, I'm not exactly sure what they look for when deciding who to accept to Watts, but just because you don't think you're an ideal candidate doesn't mean you won't get in! I am 22 years old and have no health care experience. I actually have wanted to go to vet school my whole life, so every job/volunteer experience I have ever had has related to animals. I didn't think I was a very good candidate for nursing school, but I got accepted to Watts for June 2010. If I had to guess what was important to their admissions committe, I would say your preadmission test score is very important, but I also think the essay you write is important because it gives you the opportunity to stand out against the rest of the applicants. From what I've heard, I think they admit around 50 students for each semester, so I think you stand a great chance of getting in! Good luck!

Thanks for the reply and congrats on your acceptance. It's good to hear that you did it without a lot of health related work under your belt. It would be a real commute for me to go to Watts, but I think it'll be worth it in the long run. The way the nursing programs at the community colleges here work they hardly seem worthwhile in comparison.
