Another Country Nurse - Traveling Nurse

Published

Hello,

A little about me I haven't decided if I am going into nursing or sonography, but I have two cousins who are nurses. One is a prenetal nurse and the is an ER nurse. (sory i'm typing very fast and i can't spell sometimes)

Anyway, my cousin the ER nurse is an ER nurse in Mexico, and I think she may want to come and be a ER nurse here in the states. i would really like it if she did, only thing is that I'm not sure how she should go about it. She knows a little english, and she wants to take english classes, but my question is, after she learns english will she have to go through a nursing program all over again? or can she just take the test in english, pass and be able to practice?

I was going to send her a few nursing books from here, and see if she gets the hang of it. I'm from here and even I have a hard time pronounsing the medical language, and i was born here.

I live in the state of Illinois, and I'm hopping that if she would come she practice nursing here in Illinois.

Since my cousin is not married nor has any children I think this would be perfect for her because, there is nothing tying her down, she can pretty much pick up and go.

Is there a website for nurses from other countries that want to work hear or vise versa?

thanks.

You would need to contact the state board of nursing to where she would be moving, they could answer your questions. You might try the boards here regarding international nursing.

Every board of nursing web page has a button to click specifically for nurses from other countries. It explains what they will need.

:D

Thanks, I think I found what I was looking for.
