Anne Arundel Community College (AACC) nursing Spring 2025

Published

Hello

how many points got you into Anne arundel nursing? I got a 75 on the TEAS but only have 11 or 12 points out of 22. Is this enough to get in?

No problem I was typing this before you asked the question. I love it when things work out.

Me too!  Haha

Thank you for putting that list out there, do you know when we have to order our uniforms and how much are they?

FYI: You need a 75% to pass and there is absolutely no rounding so you could fail with 74.99% in the class.

I threw my 1st-semester supply list away at the beginning of 2nd so I can't screenshot the supply list, but off the top of my head here you go.

Non-LED pen light (soft white light)

White shoes impervious to liquids and sharps (completely covers foot, no heel out)

kelly clamp

bandage scissors

BP cuff

stethoscope

watch with second hand

retractable badge holder

White, black, or navy-blue socks

Long sleeve plain white shirts to go under scrub top when it's chilly. (get from Walmart, Old Navy, or Gap on Black Friday fun fact I paid $.73 for mine GAP clearance sale)

I believe for Spring 2025 they are going to new books. For Spring 2024 books were approx. $2k. (for Christmas I got money to help pay for books from friends and family no need for a scarf cashapp me that $25 please and thanks)

This is so helpful, thank you!

Does anyone have a solid, reasonably priced  brand of shoes they recommend?  Not sure if I want to pull the trigger on a pair of HOKAs or Cloves just yet.  Even with Black Friday approaching.

I hate my Bondi SR Hokas and Alto Cloves. My feet are not happy. I went and bought $60 insoles, and let me tell you, my feet were screaming even more. I would say start off with something at $30-$50 and add an insole that you prefer.  In the first semester, it's only 8- 8-hour clinical days during 4 weeks that start in April.

I had the all-white leather Hoka Bondi's when I was at CCBC, and my heels hated me by the end of my clinical day. I have very high arches. I found a pair of Cloves at a thrift store to try before I spent more money on shoes that I couldn't return. The front of those crease so much. And they squeak. I added an extra insert, and the Cloves weren't too bad. I went to a running store, and they had all-white leather Brooks, but they looked like geriatric shoes.

Ugh that sucks to hear about Hokas and Cloves.  I think I'm gonna go with MsAtoZ and get an inexpensive pair that'll get me as far as possible.

For anyone who attended the orientation today...good luck! Keep us updated later 🙂

Okay so

Flynnohara.com for the uniform ms.lyons stated they need to be bought asap. They are giving us until the second week of classes to have the uniforms. It's was stated that uniforms must be worn during all labs, stimulations and practice sessions.

white leather shoes( No crocs or mesh tennis shoes has to be closed toe) clogs, maybe Dansko (my preference) are on sale on Amazon for 90 bucks I believe.

stethoscope I know littmanns are 96 bucks on amazon if you are a littmanns girlie. Professor lyons also stated that you can get any stethoscope you want as long as you hear clearly through it.

blood pressure cuff with the sphygmomanometer Amazon has it for 33 bucks.

Watch with second hand she mentioned that Apple Watches are okay.

Retractable badge holder

She said Kelly clamps we would not need for the first semester.

bandage scissors and non led light pen (soft white light)

It was broken down to us that AACC has now switched to Elsevier for their program and elsevier has a ebook package that's roughly $2800 for all the materials we will be covering during our time in the program. Instead of paying for it up front how the use to do it with the books in the past, they are now doing payment plans for the course materials each semester.

attached is the elsevier price list for ebooks per semester.
