An Honest Thank You!!

Specialties NICU

I just wanted to come to you all as a newbie to the allnurses.com scene! I have just been offered the position of my DREAMS in the NICU (level iiiB) and I can't thank everyone on here enough for all of the time and effort you pour into us new graduates looking to pass our boards and find work! From the many posts/threads about how to prepare for an interview and the NCLEX, to the pep-talks and the supportive messages, you push us all to do our best, you believe in us, and you give the best advice around!!! My heart is honestly SO full right now and I wanted to say THANK YOU!!!

As for other new graduates like me, I urge you all to go for your dreams and seek out what you truly feel is your calling and DO NOT give up!!

When I applied to the NICU position at this facility, my application was almost immediately denied and I received an email saying I was not considered for the position by the end of the week, but I reapplied immediately to the SAME POSITION because I figured it was worth the try! I prayed and prayed and getting a call for an interview for this position, as a new grad was the last thing I thought I would receive, but I DID. I interviewed today, I spoke from the heart, I was honest, and was offered the position 2 hours after the interview!

I am not saying that this method of reapplying will work for everyone, but PLEASE DON'T GIVE UP and PLEASE TAKE CHANCES!!! GO FOR WHAT YOU WANT!! If it is where you feel that you are meant to be, you will eventually end up in the position of your heart's calling!! Please remember that it is not a question of if it will happen, but a question of when it will happen!!

I must say that I do not believe this would have been possible for me without the support of the wonderful nurses on this website, my eagerness to seek out the position that I know in my heart of hearts is my calling, and the power of Jesus Christ!!

GOD IS SO GOOD!!!!!

PRAISING HIS NAME ALL THE WAY THROUGH!!!!!!

Specializes in NICU Nurse.

Congrats on the job! I have an interview in a few weeks for NICU and I hope I get hired. I've been trying to get into the NICU since I graduated school back in 2013. I currently work as a pediatric home health nurse but I will never give up on working in the NICU.

Best of luck on starting your new career!!!

Thank you so much, Preemie! My mom actually just accepted a position in the same area that you are in now and she absolutely loves it! I am honestly so happy for you that you landed this interview! I will be praying that God takes away any anxiety or doubts going in, and that they see the determination and true passion you have within you to work with the neonates and their families!! You've got this!!
