I am scheduled to interview with Americare this week for the LPN program. Has anyone else attended this school? If so, what is the Interview process like? I am nervous and excited and just looking for little pointers that may help! Thanks!

Hi,
I was supposed to go there in may but at first I put it off because they are outrageously expensive and I wanted to look at other schools. I just called them yesterday to cancel for the august semester because I got accepted into a school that is only about a quarter of the drive (for me), less then half of the traffic with 1/5th the tuition!! The interview went well for me. When you get there they make everyone write an essay about 3 obstacles you face in furthering your career with them and how you plan to overcome them. Then thay call you into the office and ask you questions based off of your essay. Really, all they want to hear is that no matter what, you will do whatever it takes to make it to school every day until the end. Depending on how well you do they might accept you then and there or tell you that they will call you. They do call some people back but I got accepted that day and they told me "dont go out there skipping because we told alot of people that we are not deciding until friday!" So of course your best bet is to try and get in that day because obviously not everyone gets a call back.
Good Luck and Congratulations on deciding to better your life!!!
Thanks for the great info! By the way- what school did you end up chosing?
I ended up choosing TECO in kissimmee. Tuition is about $4,000 (beginning to end, uniform, shoes, parking ticket, vaccines, background check, graduation pics, books, supplies and Nclex included!). As I'm sure you know, since americare is a private school for profit, their tuition as a little over $17,000 and it isn't all inclusive. I cant really afford that and the day I went in to see someone about fin. aid, some students were in the lobby saying some really negative things about the school, program and finances and were in the process of filing charges for fraud, mismanagement of student funds and a few other things!!! THAT scared me and thats when I really started second guessing myself, so... but everything worked out and I know it will for you too. Sometimes I even wonder if i should have let those girls' stories scare me off, after all every one has their own experience but when I remember the distance and the price I remember that everything happens for a reason. If you end up going there be sure to keep in touch and let me know how things work out!!
GOOD LUCK!!!!!
