Hey Guys!

This is my first post, woot woot! Anyways, I was wondering if anyone is planning on taking Nurse 100 (the Nurse Assistant course) at American River College this coming Fall 2010? What have you heard about the program? Or if you have taken that class in the past, what was your experience like and what were your thoughts on the CNA Program? I know that the orientation is coming up soon, but I thought it would be cool to hear some thoughts before the program begins.

Thanks,

XtinaS :p

I will be in the CNA this fall..I will see you there.

hey! so you both have started that classes right? how do you like it?

Ba64,

If You have a chance to take this Class ..Take it!. ARC CNA program is the best, quite fast and its very informative. Professor Young is really good teacher. She teaches you the right way. As long as you study what she gave, don't be late, listen to what she said and you will be fine. I will be taking my state test and practical test this week. Are you taking it this Spring?:jester:

awww yay! i hope to. i just applied to arc last night. i go to sac state right now and with the economy the way it is i need to figure out another path to rn. you can just take nurse 100 correct? like i dont need any prereqs like bio or anything?

No bio prereqs. Only English 50?.. Basic English. You will have a good time. Good luck.

Nurse 100 is quite popular register Asap. Only 30 students they will accept. No summer classes.

K great! I am going CSUS but the english at arc isn't the same I mean it doesn't transfer. So I looked and it says I can take an assessment test. Do you think it would be best to take that now? Sorry for all the questions the people in the counseling center aren't very helpful.

Oh also! How long is the program? like a semester length or is it accelerated?

Hey,

Yah the CNA program at ARC is great! Were about to finish right now. The program is only one semester, but it doesn't last the whole semester. I would also sign up for the Home Health that same semester. As a new student to ARC you probably will not have a registration date early enough to get into the class, because it is so in demand. However, I suggest going to the orientation meeting anyway, because there is still a chance that you can get in on random selection. I really hope that you get in, because the class will really help pave your pathway to RN. You will learn a lot of patient care skills that will give you a leg up in any RN program. You also gain some patient work experience which is good in padding resumes and nursing school apps!

I would definitely take your English assessment and your math assessment asap, because a lot of classes at ARC require those prerequisites. Better to take it now when there are not a lot of people trying to take the tests, than when its crowded at the beginning of the semester.
