Are there any American nurses who have an ADN working in Ontario... I have a question... Did the CNO accept your ADN or did you have to take upgrading courses?
I am Canadian and looking at going to school in Buffalo for my ADN. I am in my first year of a two year RPN program and am looking at transfering.
I hope this came out properly i am exhausted this morning...

Have you contacted the CNO to ask them directly? I'd be concerned if someone says yes the CNO did accept their ADN, so you get yours, then find out that they no longer do accept it.
From the CNO website: "The new entry-to-practice requirement for registration as an RN in Ontario is now a four-year baccalaureate degree in nursing or equivalent. "
Unfortunately the CNO was not really helpful... I called them this morning and they stated that its on a person to person basis. When I evaluated what the CNO wanted against the school's degree outline it was consistent.
I was hoping to see if anyone has ever gone through it..
My professor thinks that it is equally valid but I want to make sure obviously before i make any big decisions

I'm a nurse with ADN in US, relocating to Canada. Waiting for evaluation package to come from Ontario. Yes, nursing board is checking credentials on a personal basis. It's worth to try. My other option is Alberta. A nice province with a lot of nursing jobs and accepting with ADN. Also BC has a lot to offer! Good luck and keep in touch!
