Hello all! I was selected by the Oct 2017 board as a 66T. I have recently received my scroll back and will be commissioning soon as well as taking the OPAT. I am wondering if anyone else has taken the OPAT yet? Any comments or suggestions on that? Also, has anyone received their orders for DCC? I was really hoping for the June date but am afraid that I will get pushed back d/t my scroll taking so long. Was anyone given options of when they would go or were you just given orders and had to take whatever they gave you? I have a family and am a travel nurse so I am trying to coordinate contracts around my possible DCC dates. Also, for anyone who has already attended DCC, were you able to have your phone at night to contact your family or is it more like enlisted basic where you are pretty much out of contact with friends/family for the duration of the course? Obviously I am prepared either way it would just be nice to know in advance so I can prepare my kids. Another quick question for my fellow parents/spouses...did health insurance for you and your family start day 1 of DCC or did it take some time? Thanks in advance! I appreciate any and all input!
