Preadmission Testing RN's

I have been a preadmission testing nurse for one year now and am interested in hearing where other preadmission testing RN's are working and what they are doing!!!

I was always interested in this field.

What is the average time per patient do you spend on the Nursing Interview? I'm the sole PAT RN at my hospital, and I'm getting pressure from "other people" to spend no more than 15-20 minutes on Interview, Teaching, and Scheduling. I think this is completely unreasonable. Thought from those who have experience as PAT RN/Scheduler, please.

I am also the sole PAT RN at a mid size hospital. My schedule is 45 minutes per patient interview. I don't have a clerk to help with phone calls or anything so that clerical stuff has to get done with my "free time." Obviously some patients take a great deal less time than 45 minutes, but I never schedule them less than 30 minutes apart. 15-20 minutes apart is ridiculous.

Thank you. That's what I thought, too.
