Am i taking the right steps towards working in Canada as Nurse

Published

Hi guys, I just like to get your opinion about the the steps I am taking right now in pursuing a career to Canada as Nurse. Just yesterday, I was able to talk to an Immigration consultant and I was given 3 options: Student visa, Quebec (be a permanent resident, provided that I study French), and CFN ( take the RN exam in Canada). I plan to take the option for CFN where I was told that first, I should meet the requirements to be eligible to sit for the CRNE in Canada. Once I've accomplished the forms for the exam and happen to be eligible to take the exam, I will be given a 6 mo. temporary visa that will allow me to take the CRNE for 3 times (if i fail on the first take). Then, I was told that if ever I pass the said exam, Canada will be the one to provide me with the Working Visa and assist me in my working career. After this, I can be a permanent resident of Canada after 2 years of stay. Are all of these accurate? Please advise. I just like to add that I have recently taken my IELTS exam, and will have the results by June 1.

What is CFN? CRNE is only held 3 times a year at the moment so 6 months will not necessary mean you will be able to sit more than twice, if you failed first time. Working permit takes months to be issued and medical willbe required. I suggest a lot of reading in this forum and the CIC website which will explain options to live and work in Canada. Paperwork is easy and can be completed without using an agency
