Am i making the right decision?

Nursing Students Pre-Nursing

Hello everyone! I currently have applied to an LPN school, it takes 18 months and runs straight through. You finish with an Associates degree in nursing. Something that can be built upon, if i choose to go back for my RN. I go to my study session this next week, and take the entrance exam soon after. They said my chances of getting in are pretty good. Im just sooooo nervous about going to school for a full 18 months, as I am a mother of 2 children. One in school, and one would still have to go to daycare. My classes would be 8 to 3 everyday. Which in it self is a full time job. I'm nervous ill start and the money problems would take over and i wouldnt be able to finish. Many things are going through my head....Should i take more money out in my school loan to help me keep my head above water? Any other mothers in school that have had this problem? The end result would be greattttt and i would be able to provide for my children much better than i can now. I just dont know which way to go? Anyyyy input would be great! Thank you! :)

Are u working at all? You could probably work at least two shifts a week somewhere like retail or food service or CNA would be even better to get your foot in the door. Have you tried to budget? Probably a good start to actually see if you do need to take out more loans. And if you do need more money, take out more loans. Easy as that...although I'm sure it feels crazy.

If it will help you realize your goal, take the student loan.

Good luck!

Thank You! Yes, I do work currently at a day care center. Which is hardly and money at all, I would never amount to anything working there my whole life. But then again, I know the people that run the daycare and I am good friends with the owner. So I would know that my son is okay while I'm at school.

HI! I am also a mother of two and completely understand! I am just started back this past fall and applied to start my nursing courses this Winter semester and I worry about all the same things. My advice is it will all work out, were theres a will theres a way. My sister just graduated law school last summer with twin 4 year old girls. I just take extra loans and financial aid because I think a little debt is better then being so stressed out (school is already plenty) and if you work you will loose time with the family so i just figure ill have the rest of life to work..... :)
