Am I being too pushy??

Nurses Professionalism

Hi everyone! I am a new graduate BSN RN on the job hunt! I recently (September 5) completed a video interview for a NICU position. I reached out to the recruiter shortly after (September 10) to say thank you/re-express my interest in the position - she responded within 2 hours stating that there are an incredibly high volume of applicants to review and consider and I would receive further communication if selected for an in-person meeting. It is now September 22, 12 days after the email communication. I am just wondering if it would be too pushy to send another follow-up email to check my status? I don't want to be annoying for I understand the nurse recruiters are very busy and have a lot of applicants and she had stated that she "appreciated my patience during this process." What do you all think?? Thanks in advance!!

You had the video interview and sent a follow email for which you was provided with a response. I personally would not send anything else or call at this point. You was told there was a high volume of applications, which takes time, sorting through potential prospects after all the video interviews takes time as well. Unfortunately most facilities are slow on the hiring process unless they are drowning from being so short staffed. I would still be putting out applications and accepting interviews elsewhere. Best of luck!

You did the right think IMO by sending a thank you message for the interview. Based on the response I would leave it at that, since any further communication will probably only hurt your chances. You were basically told in gentle terms to stop further communication until you are summoned for another interview. I'd leave it at that ;)
