Always anxious

So, I work for a nursing home here in town as a CNA and have been in the field for nearly a year and a half now while attending to my college studies and my sick mother who has cancer. I love my job the only problem is whenever I go into work, I feel as if I'm extremely anxious to the point where I take medication to control it. I'm even anxious when I'm off work just thinking about going to work. Any of you had these experiences?

Oh, I totally struggle with job-related anxiety. I consider myself a perfectionist and always want to give every job my 110%; whenever I fall short of those expectations, however, is when the anxiety and nerves kick in. I'll get anxious about making mistakes, being fired, not being good enough...

Some things I have found to help are exposure and experience. Getting better at the job and adjusting to the environment helps a lot with my nerves and anxiety. It really is just overwhelming when you're starting a new job and learning and doing everything for the first time. Also, during your off time, doing things to take your mind off work. Watching something silly on TV, reading a good book, working on a craft project, what have you... whatever helps you to wind down and relax.

I admit, though, that this is a problem I really struggle with too. The suggestions I made above help but I still have trouble. I'm interested in seeing more replies to this topic.

I had a girl at our LTC who was like this. She did not have medication though, so she went from full time to per diem and it helped her anxiety a lot. She took another job doing secretary work, and is doing a whole lot better. I have a panic disorder that is controlled with medication.
