i've already forgotten everything! please, any advice is appreciated

i just graduated as an LPN in march. i started my first job at long term acute care facility thinking i'd gain some med/surg experience. well, i feel like i'm working at a nursing home, which i never wanted to do. nothing against it, i just don't feel its for me. a friend of mine is working in an actual hospital and is gaining all kinds of experience while i'm passing meds all day. i feel like i've forgotten everything i had learned in school as i am not using it at all. i did get my acls certification, that's the only upside to this. i've been there since may of this year. my preceptor wasn't very helpful, i was hoping he would be questioning me and testing my knowledge while training me, kinda like my instructors would do in clinicals, but he didn't. he would just keep joking that he had someone to "help him out" or "do his job." now i'm just lost and feel like all that knowledge went out the window. i am currently back in college to earn my RN degree, but i'm just starting out and am doing prereq's right now which have nothing to do with nursing. i'm just so frustrated!

It wouldn't hurt to start applying at hospitals. Say to whoever interviews you that you want more of the actual hospital nursing job. Don't quit your job until you find another job.... see what your options are. If yo get hired at a hospital, give your current job plenty of notice.
