Allied Health Nursing Education in Tampa 2011 LPN Class

Published

I passed my entrance exam! I'm looking to start in July class. I have my interview schedule for this week and then I have to meet up with financial aid. I'm excited! Is anyone looking to start in July? Any former students that can give me any information about the school or teachers? Do you like the school?

Congrats Love78!

I'm very interested in this topic also.

I'm in the Tampa area and am doing research on this school and Galen.

Yes, I've used the "search" option but most of the topics are from '09.

Once again, congrats Love78.

I'm gonna follow/friend your name and keep up with your progress!!

Sorry if this is considered a hijack.

Hello there. I am a current student at Allied. I will actually be finished by the time you start Love78. This year has really been worth it although it can be rough, but thats expected at any nursing school. The staff really cares and pushes you to work and the pass rate is 100% for NCLEX PN. When I first started last summer the school seemed unorganized but that has changed for the better. There was someone in my class that was kicked out/ or quit who is going at Galen and she said that its basically the same thing, with the same issues, etc... ! My last final will be next week and then class ends in less than a month. There is an exit exam July 22nd, almost a month after class ends, and if you pass you can then sit for boards. Be positive and dont be too anxious, the year is going to fly by so fast.

Wow, Thanks FL frauline.

Do you have a email addy where I can email any questions I may have in the future?

Thanks for your information. Good luck on the exit exam.. Let me know how it goes. I went for my interview and it went well. Then I went to financial aid and I will be taking a loan of $14,000. I tried some of their uniform and ordered the right size. They also took a picture with the uniform for my school id...I felt like I was accepted already. lol They told me I should be hearing from them within a week.

Are you going to look for a job as a LPN or are you are planning to continue for the RN? Are currently working?

I worry it will be hard to find a job as a new grad.

Well you got in. thats the same thing that happened to me. I'm working as a CNA. I actually had to stop working during second quarter because of pharm, I was having a tough time with it. But it's nothing to really worry about. I just needed time to study everything. I'm looking for jobs for when I graduate. I was planning on starting the RN right away but I think starting a new job and the program will be too much for me. Don't worry about finding a job after graduation. Someone during a previous quarter was asked to apply at brandon hospital because they were do impressed with her.

Congrats on passing!!! I'm trying to find somewhere to take the TEAS but I can't find anything until August :(

Do you by any chance know how much Allied is? I am looking into Erwin as well.

Thanks and congrats again,

Lindsay

IBlake907,

Allied is $19,000 for the program. It includes the books, uniform and other fees. I tried taking the TEAS twice and failed at Erwin and decided to tried the Allied school. I'm glad I did because the entrance exam was way easier than the TEAS.
