Greetings!

Im residing in the Philippines. Passed the local board license exam. I want to know the requirements to take CGFNS?

Regarding NCLEX:

Among ALL the list we have for State Board of Nursing asside from the state board of nursing New York. The concern goes this way...

IF i successfully Passed NClex exam and would like to make Reciprocity or Endorsement to NEW YORK? Is it possible...? Can all state make endorsement or reciprocity? If so please give me the list of state board which cannot make any reciprocity/or endorsement if ever?

I would go for state that can later make endorsement/or reciprocity to NY. Please help me

as far as i know, all the states offer reciprocity. you can search the board of nursing from which u would like to apply because different state have different requirements. and also in their website, you can downloa the application form.

I have moved your thread to the International Forum since it is specific to foreign nurses wishing to work in the US.

Before you do a thing, I would recommend that you take the time to do some reading on this site. The CGFNS exam is not required by NY and is only required by four states out of the entire US so there is really no reason to even be considering it unless you wish to work in one of those four states.

States actually do not have reciprocity for licenses, it is the NCLEX exam that has reciprocity. One must meet the requirements for the specific state that they are wishing to be licensed in or endorse to.

NY will permit one to endorse from another state, but you will still need to meet their requirements that are required for initial licensure and that would be to get the CVS completed thru CGFNS. They require that and will not accept anything else in its place. And the CVS cannot be used for any other state as well.

Whether or not you can endorse is strictly up to what was in your transcripts and if they meet the requirements. Not all programs in the US meet all of the requirements for every state in the US.

Not sure if you are aware of the fact that you are looking at more than five years for a chance at a green card, and suspect that it will be much longer than that. Also have not seen a hospital in NY start the petitioning process for anyone in close to two years, so that is not going to be favorable for you.

Would highly recommend that you focus on getting experience in another country as we are expecting things to considerably tighten up in the US all over, and not get easier. You are also up against the large number of graduates from your country that do not have jobs and are wishing to come to the US as well. There just are not enough visas to go around and cover everyone.

The retrogression is also two years old this month and no signs of it coming close to ending at all.

Best of luck to you.

States do not offer reciprocity, that means that a license from another state is automatically accepted by them and this is definitely not the case. One must meet the requirements of the new state; so this is not what is called reciprocity.

Only the NCLEX exam has reciprocity.
