Hi everyone! I'm currently starting/going through the application process for the October boards for nursing for the Airforce and I was wondering if anyone else is going through the process or has gone through MEPS yet? I have read a lot of the old blogs from previous years on what its like and how the interview process goes with the Chief Nursing Officer, but still super. nervous!
Hi I am soon to graduate this December and am looking at joining. I have prior service in the AF and have an idea what I'm getting into. But I do not understand the appl6 process completely. For the NTP for new grads, when does that 12 months or less nursing experience start? I am under the impression this is a long process, I would get some experience in the mean time, but I feel I would benefit greatly from the transition program even with about a year of experience. Also, if I started the process this January as I am told by the recruiter, how long is the process to go to the officer training?
My friend went through the NTP program and he started his application process in nursing school. By the time he graduated he had 2 months till going to OTS and took his NCLEX in the meantime. If you have more than one year of acute nursing care experience you no longer can do the NTP because you will be a fully qualified nurse. I am applying as a direct commission and they do two boards a year. One in January and October.

Hey, I sent off my resume, LOR, transcripts.
I'm working on getting myself physically ready for the PFTs.
From what you were mentioning with interviewing with the Chief Nursing Officer and all...that is what I got from the recruiter so far as well.
