Air Force Waivers

Has anyone else had a problem with their recruiter not making waivers. I was just told that the AF is not considering anyone with a waiver or a GPA under 3.5. She denied me for a broken arm and ankle when I was a child.

I would not be suprised since they are downsizing like all the other services.

All of the branches are slowing recruiting.

FYI, your recruiter does not "make" waivers. Your recruiter requests waivers on your behalf and they get approved elsewhere depending on the nature of the waiver requested. What gets approved this quarter might not fly next quarter and vice versa depending on specific recruiting goals determined for each quarter.

If you don't get in now, be patient. Call your recruiter every other month or so to check on adjustments to recruiting standards and your likelihood at getting a waiver based on those.

Not sure if something changed in the last few months but I had a waiver come through a couple weeks ago. The waiver process sure is a struggle because I read and heard so many different things. I think there are so many variables and it is impossible to predict if a waiver will be approved. Did MEPS disqualify you for these and then your recruiter did not submit a waiver? I would think if they knew about them beforehand, that by processing you through MEPS that in the end, they knew they would need to do a waiver. I wish I had the answer for you. Maybe my situation was unique and due to other credentials, my waiver was processed/approved.

I had a financial waiver but that was approved. I'm not worried about the GPA, but I wouldn't be surprised about that restriction. Like others have mentioned, with the downsizing they are getting really picky and I doubt it's going to get much better. I agree, just pester your recruiter.
