Not sure if someone has started a thread for this Class. If there is one already, please send me a link for it. I thought we should have a threat to prepare people who made it to this class. Any input from the other guys that we started this long journey with would be appreciated. Thank you.

Hey Bayern.
I was notified yesterday that I will be attending COT in August and stationed at Andrews, AFB :-) I am looking forward to talking with others in this class and getting to know you all on this exciting journey!
That is great. Congratulations. I think so far we are 3 people that I know of. It has been such a long journey.
That I agree. This journey has been long and kind of crazy. I don't think its truly sunk in yet that I'm in.

I'm with you, it definitely hasn't sunk in just yet. I first contacted my recruiter in October 2012. After waiting through two boards and all of the delays, I'm happy to move on with the process. I'll be attending with you both in August, then on to Dyess AFB in Abilene, TX.
I need to return my LOA still, but I'm waiting to hear from my recruiter about TIG. When I first started the process, I had just over two years of RN experience. Now I'm at 3.5, so I'm curious as to how that could change my TIG. Does anyone have insight about this?
JillyRN...I think I started with you and I was told by my recruiter that I will come in as 02. I had already applied to NP program that I expect to be accepted. I was accepted initially and told them I wont progress with the school bc I wanted to try joining the AF...being my desire. I actually plan to ask for the school to defer my schooling for a semester or 2 until I get my feet wet in the AF and start taking a class or two online. BUT all that is by-the-way....I was shocked and excited. I think there is a link on how to prepare for COT...like what to do whatever month away-4-3-2-1-3 wks-2-1 etc. I think I saw it here one time
That sounds like a great resource, worth looking into. I was originally told by my recruiter that I would start as an O1 and have only 3 months until making O2. But the LOA I received just said O1, so I was hoping to clarify. My understanding is that the orders would be more specific in regards to this. Does that sound right? It's been so long since I reviewed and signed those initial documents, I just don't want to be taken for less than I should accept, not that it would deter me either way. I'm equally excited for you, as I know the road to this wasn't easy nor fun.
Jilly...I think you are right in regards to the rank. I was originally 01 too but I now have more years of experience. I think they counted to the time of our second application. I think talking your recruiter would help. And yes, I am searching for that link. I will post it once I get it. I am reading the link that was sent to us about COT. For some reason my computer cannot open ADLS but will call monday for some direction and post that too here for someone who is encountering the same issues.
This is the List that I was talking about :

I am in the process of applying to the Air Force. My recruiter told me the application deadline was March 17th, the board would meet in April and the COTS I am applying for starts June 30th and the graduation is in August. SOOO, am I crazy, is he crazy, or is there some reason you guys already know that you are going to a later COTS than the one I believe I am applying to? HAHA this whole process is a seriously stressful and exciting hurry up and wait fiasco! Congratulations y'all I am seriously jealous.
Bayern, Thanks so much for that link. That will be really helpful. My husband was active duty Army, but this will be a whole new situation for us. Thanks for the insight about the rank issue. I'm hoping to speak with my recruiter Monday about it.
Jamie, wishing you luck with your application! I can't really shed any light on your situation cause I was under the impression that there were no more boards for FY2014. So clearly I was given different information as well. I was alternate #3 from the October board and just found out I became a select. Only advice I can give is to be patient since the process can be long and stressful. I started my first application in October 2012!
James...I think the best person to talk to is the recruiter though in my case when I found out that the select list was out...this is where I found out. My recruiter for some reason did not even know. I think it is a good place to communicate and touch base. It is going to be a long process and hopefully for you, not as long as it took some of us. I started this thing in 2012...I think October. So mentally and emotionally, give yourself 2-3 years. But a day will come when you will receive that select-call. I cannot even tell u how I feel about this whole process...emotionally I have been all-over. My wife just cried when I told her...really cried.
