Ahh! Nursing and Dating...

I know that it's generally not recommended to date during nursing school, but I'd rather not stay single for another year, thank you!

I asked a girl out recently (I'm male), and we were trying to figure out a time to date... We're both so busy that we were having trouble finding a time! We might just end up eating lunch together here and there etc... We really seem to be highly compatible (which is rare for me), but the biggest problem is just time.

I hope that nursing school doesn't ruin my chances with this girl! She's pretty down to earth and not the high-maintenance entitlement type... very cool... So, of all the girls I've dated I think she might be the most likely to understand my situation and be flexible about schedules with me...

It's hard man! Nursing school really takes over your life. ...but you all know that. haha... I guess I just felt like a little rant.

Anything is possible and doable but remember with Nursing you are going to be stretched to the max while getting through. If it is meant to be it will eh?

Well she seems to be level-headed and mature... the kind who might understand the fact that I won't have much time for her (or myself!). She's a political science major with a minor in Christian studies... She's taking Greek! That's a tough one that requires a lot of studying! I'm glad she doesn't have cake majors... Christian studies is really intense at my university (private Christian uni...)

Anyway, I'm taking her out Wednesday evening, and hopefully if it works out the weekends will be a good time to go on dates. She was camping this last weekend (My kind of girl!) but that's not exactly a commonplace thing, so hopefully most of her weekends will be free.

I can't read her at all haha... She's pretty stoic/internal (which I prefer... Heart on the sleeve types aren't for me). Should be an interesting date! :)

No matter how intense your major, everyone should be able to make a little free time for themselves/others. Hopefully you'll be able to coordinate yours a little bit (her night free won't be the night before your weekly exam). Once you get to know each other a little better, you can try going for coffee somewhere and studying (really studying though, just take a break together every so often) on top of going out and doing something when your schedules coincide...good luck, and keep us posted!

A lot of my classmates started dating people during our nursing program and a few of them even got married before graduation! Don't let school run your life. GO for it!

Yeah... that's what I'm trying to do... :(... We had to delay the date... again... (This is like the 3rd time...). She was apologetic and said that the place I chose to eat sounds great (which I assume implies that she still wants to go!)... She was just bogged down with her RA (resident advisor) responsibilities, quizzes, tests, etc.

I mean it's great that she's really busy too because if anyone will understand my business then she might, but at the same time, I don't want her to get tired of me before we even get to know each other... before we get to go on our first date!!!

Ahh!

I'm all about pursuing a girl, but man if she's even busy on the weekends then... ug...

this should be a movie. your story gave me goosebumps!

i met my husband when i was in my first semester of pre-reqs. we just got married this summer and he is very supportive and understanding of my studies. i think that when you have someone that can bare with you through ns, then you really have a keeper.

so true...! my bf and i dated 9 semesters throughout nursing school, graduated together, still together, and will always be together soon (planning to get married!!!). even though the scheduling is crazy, we always found time to be with each other...even if it's just for a few minutes, it counts...

...hope it will go well for you...you deserve to be happy and school shouldn't stop you...lol!
