Hey guys, I was wondering if it's possible to find a contract locally through an agency for higher pay (since agency nurses make more) If this is doable would I still need 1 year experience or could I do this right out of RN school? Just to clarify I won't be jumping around hospitals, just working with a local hospital through a contract.
Thanks

You will need at least one year of experience. The function of an agency nurse for the hospital is to fill in needed staffing in the hospital with someone who is experienced and can do the job. It defeats the purpose for the hospital to pay the added expense of utilizing an agency nurse if they have to train you. A REPUTABLE agency will require that you have at least a year of experience or usually two years if it is a specialty area.
