Affordable CNA/LPN classes in RVA/Cville?

I'm in Fluvanna (close to Goochland) and am looking for an affordable LPN or CNA class. The CC near me has a CNA class, but it's something ridiculous, like $1200. I'm willing to drive to Richmond if the classes aren't a semester long, just because of gas prices.

Also, how easy is it, once you have your CNA, to get your LPN? Will employers help pay for classes?

The Best LPN program, my opinion is Henrico County/ St. Mary's Hospital School of Practical Nursing. It's not that well know, but it is amazing. I will warn you it is very hard and fast. They train that way to make not just an LPN, but an awesome Nurse. I graduated 2 yrs ago and it's was only 3,000 all together. Compared to other schools who dont care if you pass or not costing 25,000 or more. I urge you to think about what you want to do. You can get stuck in a "stepping stone" job real quick. I want to be an RN and 2 years I've been stuck as an LPN. If you want to be a nurse, go for it. Most programs you can get your CNA 1/4 to 1/2 way through it. Good Luck

PVCC offers the least expensive LPN program in the area. For CNA training, you might want to contact CATEC in Charlottesville.
