Can someone please tell me if a new member of staff employed in August 06, her initial KSF was done in December 06, her 2nd gataway is due in July 07, she will not be able to achiecve all the objectives as she there is not enough time. The delay is due to her absent and sickness.
I know she will autometically get thru her 2nd gateway but once she gets thru what will happen if she unable to achieve her objectives? I suppose she will have to show all evidance retrospectively.

Paris from what I understand if there is not sufficient time then she has to progress through the gateway, and once through there is nothing you can do to put her back. But if she is not achieving then there is always the capability policy within your trust that is there to help both staff and managers. It helps the staff by idenifying thier particular problem areas and setting goals for achievment and managers because if they are just not capable it allows you to deal with it.
But capability in my experience is a very long and drawn out process.
Hope this helps
