I am currently a licensed aesthetician and I have worked in a medical spa over the last 16 years in NJ. I am 51. I want to go back to school because my goal is to be an aesthetic nurse. I already have a BA in a completely different field. Is it possible to become an LPN and be successful as an aesthetic nurse or should I go for my BSN? I have researched this and the accelerated program is over 20,000 and there is a wait list..Does anyone know if there are career opportunities for an Aesthetic LPN in NJ? Can someone share there experience with this and hopefully salary? I would appreciate any information and/or advice. I have to make a decision.

The field is generally restricted to specialty trained RNs and competitive. $20,000+ for an ABSN program may not have a positive benefit:cost/risk ratio. LPNs can't do this kind of injectables.
