Advice on transferring areas

Hi,

I am a newly qualified nurse in the United Kingdom who has just completed six months in acute medicine. While I enjoy the type of work I am doing, the environment is far too stressful and has led to me becoming quite burned out. Many nurses are even leaving due to the environment.

Part of the reason I am not happy is also due to living away from all my family. So I have been looking for jobs in hospitals near home to no success. This morning I got a phonecall from a recruitment agency who say they can offer me a choice of 3 jobs in my actual hometown. The only issue is they are nursing homes. I have no issues with nursing homes at all, I just don't know enough about the type of work an RN does in them or if switching there from my current chaotic job will lead me to become bored quickly.

Can anyone offer me some advice please? Or anyone who had a similar career change?
