Be nice and work hard!
Ask questions and show a desire to learn.
If you make a mistake, focus on what you can do to fix it, and don't dwell on it until its fixed.
Talk to the nurses about working on the unit and ask for advice on landing the job.
And bring them doughnuts or bagels on your last day (we love that)!
Good luck and learn lots!

I found out today that I am going to be doing my preceptorship in a medical cardiac ICU in a level I trauma hospital.
I'm over the top thrilled! This is the unit that I want to work on when I graduate.
I have only done one shift there as a Nurse Extern (paired up with an RN working side by side) but that was well over 6 months ago!
I really want to make an impression. I"ve been putting in applications to this unit since the beginign of February and now is the time to prove to them that I can handle this!
I have 3 years experience as a tech in SAC and ICU but I know it's going to be different as a nurse.
Any advice would be so helpful! My prayers are that I get a job out of this!!!!!
