Pre-registration Program for Overseas Qualified Nurses (PPOQN)

Course Outline

The Re-entry Program for Division 1 Registered Nurses (RPRN) and Pre-registration Program for Overseas Qualified Nurses (PPOQN) is an 11-week non-award program that leads to registration as a Division 1 professional nurse with the Nurses Board of Victoria (NBV), Australia. The program contains both theoretical and clinical components and is delivered at accredited health care venues in central and western Victoria that are ‘Partnered’ with the University of Ballarat. Both components of the program require satisfactory completion of assignments and/or clinical competencies.

Written confirmation from the NBV as to the eligibility of participants to undertake this program must be obtained before applying for the program. Note that satisfactory completion of this program does not entitle the participant to employment at clinical venues utilised in delivery of the program.

On their website it says August and November. Better call them to confirm.

Hi! Is it ok to lodge the application with NBV w/o IELTS yet? or do I have to make sure I pass IELTS first? What is the cheapest BP provider considering I already have 1 year hospital experience? How much would that cost? Thanks...

Hi Guys,

Just submitted my documents to NBV a few weeks ago and am still waiting for the results. I would like to ask for advice regarding my choice of school for the Bridging Program. Which school is the best for a Filipino with no relatives in Australia? What schools would you recommend?

Thanks a lot! :D

Hello to everyone. I am new to this bridging program for nurses in Au. I just want to know if someone here has already completed the process and is just waiting for his/her visa? Can you walk me through the process? Thanks!

Also, can you lodge your papers without an IELTS result? I just took my IELTS last Spetember. Sadly, I only got 6.5 in writing. I am thinking whether I should lodge my papers without the IELTS result or do I need to retake the test first then pass all the requirements to AHRPA?

Thanks in advance to those who will reply.

Nursing Board of Victoria, no longer exists, please let it RIP

You need IELTS at one sitting to be assessed by the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency and I thought you needed a visa to be in the country studying not just after when looking for work.

Please read the start of Fillipino nurses in Australia part 2 for your walking through process...all the information is there.
