Hello, I just graduated from an accelerated nursing program in PA. We are moving out to California so I will have to get my licenses for CA. The whole process of just signing up for the nclex through the state of CA is a nightmare. I have already submitted an application along with the fee but realized I still need to pay $49 for the fingerprint card. So that means I may have to start all over and pay the $150 again (Since they are nonrefundable) just to add on the $49 fingerprint charge. I am frustrated, I have emailed them, called them for weeks now and nothing. Their answering machines pick up and then hang up on me after explaining they are busy. I tried calling since 8am (a little after 8am) and throughout the entire day.
So my question is... do i just say screw it to CA and take the state boards for PA then fly out there to have a licenses endorsement/transfer? or do I suck it up and try to figure this crap out. I am looking for a faster route because time is ticking yet nothing is getting done waiting on a response from BON of CA.
If you have transferred or taken your NCLEX for CA as an out-of-state, I would love hear of your experiences and ask you for your advice! Please and thank youuu!!!
