Hi All -
I'm just finished my summer classes and am trying to sort out what to do for the fall. I'm taking my last two pre-reqs, Microbiology and Statistics.
I've already submitted my nursing school apps, but am trying to figure out what I can do to get a little clinical experience prior to nursing school...so I've also signed up for EMT-B training. Adding this class has put me at 13 credits for the fall semester. Is this too heavy with the other classes that I'm taking? I'm also working full-time as well. This schedule will put me in school 4 days/wk plus EMT clinicals.
Should I keep this class? Will EMT-B training be helpful?

I considered getting my EMT-B while taking my pre-reqs and everyone I spoke to (both on here and friends who are RNs and EMTs) told me if I really wanted the EMT experience to do it, but they wouldn't. It's totally different and I'm better off using the time to study and get better grades and volunteering or finding a job in a hospital (I wish it was easier, I'm having no luck)
