Adult PC NPs working in urgent care or fast track?

Hello,

I am finishing up an AGPCNP program although I would love to work in urgent care/walk in clinic/fast track setting (my program would not allow me to switch into an FNP program). I'm wondering whether any adult NPs have ever worked or been offered jobs in this type of setting. I know it will be more difficult but I'm willing to move almost anywhere and I have 6 years of ED experience and have done some clinicals in this setting. Any advice for securing this type of job with this degree?

I will likely go back for my FNP or peds post masters very shortly after graduating but would love to graduate and get some experience first.

Thanks in advance!

Yes. I am also an AGPCNP and was offered an Urgent Care job. Large hospitals that run Urgent Care centers often have multiple providers working on a shift, so they can have some Adult NPs. Some large hospitals also separate out children and have a separate Pediatric Urgent Care.

You can get a post-master's FNP certificate and it wouldn't be that much work since you already have the Adult and Geriatric.
