Has anyone out there with an ADN had trouble landing jobs? I have my ADN and got my license this past December. It seems that a lot of the facilities I go to especially hospitals require BSN or experience. Does anyone have any advice for those who are looking for jobs with ADNs? I do plan to go back eventually for my BSN but I would like to do so when I'm more financially stable.

The hospital I got hired at actually took on more ADNs (me) than BSNs, only because the ADNs were actually internals (previous employees). Plus, getting into a RN-BSN program is pretty straight-forward (not easy, but simple). Out of my cohort, a good portion of us ADNs are already in RN-BSN programs, and one girl is actually in her last year of her RN-BSN program after 3 years.
No joke, many of these RN-BSN programs allow you to take your sweet, sweet, sweet time.

It seems to be a matter of supply and demand. Larger cities have a much more abundant supply of BSN grads, so they are much more likely to avoid hiring ADNs. If you want a hospital job, focus on smaller cities and/or community hospitals that may be off the beaten track in terms of BSN grad availability.
Good luck!
