ADN travel

Does anyone know if ADN nurses can travel to hospitals? With so many hospitals requiring a BSN for permanent staff I'm wondering if this affects travelers? Tia 🙃

Not in the slightest. I'd bet that the number of hospitals that require BSNs of travelers is less than five. More myth that fact, despite all those magnet hospitals that either require a BSN or insist that you are in an active program for staff hire. I've never been told I cannot be submitted to a hospital for that reason.

The deal with travel is they are looking for experience. They want nurses that can just jump in and perform. There is a fixed bill rate per hour, so managers will always pick the travelers with the most experience. Things like certifications and better degrees help make you more competitive if everything else is equal or the manager thinks it means a better nurse (it doesn't) - in fact, if the manager has an ADN, she may prefer to get ADNs over BSNs.
