AD-BSN question

I currently have a BS in Biology and decided to do nursing instead of Med school. I'm in a ADN program now. However, when I graduate, can I put I have a BS in Nursing eventhough Its in Biology?? The local University said that I can, others say I can't. Anyone know?

I don't think you can do that. When you graduate, you will have an Associates degree in Nursing as well as a BS in biology. When I decided to go back to school (already had a BS in biology), I went thru the BSN program at my school and was awarded a Bachelors of Science in Nursing. Both of the majors are two distinct separate majors.

thats what I thought. While we are on this subject. How long did your BSN take since you already had a BS in biology? Why did you get a BS in biology? Was you doing the med school thing like me?

What you will see is that sometimes people will sign their names j. smith, RN, ADN, BS (or BA whichever). In charting, most of us will scrawl j smith, rn, the quickest.

I call the degree combo you have the hybrid combo and you will find that the BA in another field will allow you to go someplaces the straight ADN cannot but not all of the places the BSN allows.
