You can go to AHA website and look into their continuating education and click on e-learning. They have an ACLS part I that you can do online and then there is a place on the website you can type in your zip and it will show you the nearest AHA learning provider to do your skills and written part of the test.
I took the "ACLS Anywhere" course. The scenarios were pretty cool. I would definitely NOT recommend it for a first-time taker. I've been ACLS certified for years. I've always done extremely well in the course. I found this one much more difficult. You have three tries AND a time limit to pass the computer scenarios. They are not easy and the time constraints put alot of pressure on you. If you fail a scenario you fail the course. There are no do-overs even if you were really close. They say the course will take apporximately 6 hours. It didn't take me that long but I still put a good 4 hours into it. If this is your first attempt at ACLS it's likely going to take you way longer than 6 hours at which point you might as well take the formal class where you can ask questions and clarify confusing points.
