ACID-BASE BALANCE..just saw this question from a rview ctr.just wanna know your ans..tnx..

An arterial blood gas result with a pH of 7.31, paCO2 of 39, PO2 of 92 and HCO3 of 18 indicates;

1. Respiratory alkalosis

2. Metabolic acidosis

3. Metabolic alkalosis

4. Respiratory acidosis.

Ph is lower than 7.35, is acidosis and paco2 is in the normal rang. HCO3 is lower that normal range. so it is Metabolic Acidosis.
